Mom and Dad: We really face so many daily battles today to lead our children along the path of goodness, and there are so many anti-values promoted by a society that increasingly wants to take God out of our lives and put absurd ideologies in His place that attempt against our healthy way of living life. That is why we want to bring you this little devotional of 7 days of prayer for the children with 7 Bible Verses

There are many wonderful things we could (and should) do for children, and one of them is essential: pray for children, give them to God every day for their salvation.

It is scientifically proven that prayer can heal many wounds of childhood, and by healing those wounds in children, we offer them protection and blessing at the same time.

Parents have the power and authority to pray for their minor children and to intercede for the salvation of their souls. And, since, "the prayer of a righteous person has power" (James 5:16), the father and mother have much work of sanctification to do in this area

Young children are not aware of what their greatest need is. That is why we need to cry out to God for them continuously so that little by little they open their consciousness and God´s love begins to flow within them.

7 days of prayer for your children.

If you wish, we can make a 7-day prayer challenge with these Bible Verses. You must take a Bible Verse each day and for 7 days, read it and pray the corresponding prayer, placing the name of your child or children. Allow each Bible quote to go deep into your heart, so retreat to a quiet place where you can do this with absolute focus and silence.

This little prayer, even if it is short, is beautiful and you can do it as many times as you want during the day: "My Lord and my God, protect my child".

7 Bible Verses to pray for your children.

Here is a short list of 7 Bible Verses that we can use for the 7 days of prayer for children challenge. 

1. First day: The Pastor´s voice.

We pray that the children will learn to recognize God´s voice and follow his inspirations day by day so that they will not be confused by other voices that do not seek their good.

Bible Verse for day 1.

"My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life; they shall never perish and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:27-28)

Prayer for the children, day 1.

Heavenly Father, You who are the source of life and the lighthouse that illuminates the darkness, grant my son the gift of always listening to your illuminating voice and recognize you as the only and good Shepherd and master of his life. Give him eternal life. Let no one take him from your mighty hand. Protect him and bless him always. Amen.

2. Second day: A good and faithful servant.

With this Bible Verse, let us pray that our children will be an example of goodness and love to others and in all their roles.

Bible Verse for day 2.

"How good, good and faithful servant, since you have responded faithfully in the little, I will entrust you with much more: enter and share your master´s joy. (Matthew 25:23)

Prayer for the children, day 2.

Lord, grant that my son may be savored by the sweet comfort of the Holy Spirit and that he may pour out upon him the gift of wisdom so that my son may be a good and faithful servant, who will listen to your divine inspirations and may wisely administer all that you have given him. Amen.

3. Third day: Always turn to God.

May the children always know how to go to God in all their moments of need and even in the good times to be able to give thanks.

"I will call on the Lord with all my voice, I will cry out to the Lord, and he will hear me. (Psalm 77:2)

Prayer for the children, day 3.

Loving Father, grant that my child may have You above all, that he may call upon You in moments of distress and need, and that You may be for the beacon that illuminates his life and his first choice in the moment of help. May he be able to face his problems, all his challenges and afflictions, holding your hand. May my son have you present in all the moments of his life and look for you, not only to ask for your protection, but also to thank you for your presence in his life. Amen.

4. Fourth day: Working for good.

Let us now ask that our children always seek the best for themselves and for others. May their good deeds prevail in their lives so that they may earn the crown of life.

"Nothing unclean may enter it, nor shall those who have practiced abomination and deceit enter it. Only those who are written in the Lamb´s Book of Life may enter. (Revelation 21:27)

Prayer for the children, day 4.

My Lord and my God, grant that my son, enlightened by your presence, may perform good works pleasing to you, that he may be given to selfless service with others, be kind, docile, humble and always like to help those in need of comfort with joy. That, by his good deeds, you may write my son´s name in the Lamb´s book of life. Amen.

5. Fifth day: Letting God lead you.

Through this Bible Verse, may the children follow God´s precepts with wisdom and reject any inclination to evil that leads to their own ruin.

"I urge you to be led by the Spirit of God, so that you will not be swept away by the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)

Prayer for the children, day 5.

Beloved Father, in this present world we are living in, there is a hostile desire of those who govern us to inject our children with unbridled passions in their hearts and thus drag them into their interests, without caring about driving them to ruin and emotional pain. Grant my child that he may always be open to be led by your Spirit so that he may overcome those evil passions that others promote for their destruction. Let him not be carried away by the desires of the flesh and live according to faith, with ardent devotion to your Word and to You who are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen.

6. Sixth day: Invoke the guardian angel.

We pray to God that the children may know that they have a guardian angel who cares for them and who wants to lead them well. May they always turn to him.

Bible Verse for day 6.

"The King said, Have we not cast these three bound men into the fire? But I see four men walking freely in the fire without being harmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods. (Daniel 3,92)

Prayer for the children, day 6.

Gracious Father, You have ensured that a guardian angel cares for each of us. Grant that my son may always go to his guardian angel to be delivered from every danger and from every evil force that would divert him from your path. Grant that my son may have a faith so solid, pure, and simple that he may be free from his enemies at the moment of trial and become a witness to your power, a witness to the wonders you can do in him. Amen.

7. Seventh day: A new heart.

Let us pray to God that, going through pain, frustration, betrayal and suffering, the children may know how to bear their falls and that their hearts may never be hardened.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will take out of your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)

Prayer for the children, day 7.

My Lord, grant that my son may find and attain inner peace in your presence so that he may maintain serenity in the face of the misfortunes and evils that surround him, and thus not be an easy prey to fear, that his hope and faith may not be broken, and that his heart may never be hardened. Make my son humble and simple, give him a heart of flesh, and put your Holy Spirit within him so that he may live renewed in You and filled with love, and so that he may praise You forever and ever. Amen.
