Pray the prayer to live Holy Week with confidence and free from anxiety. Jesus is waiting for us, he does not get tired
This is the right time for you to put into practice the Prayer to live Holy Week with confidence and free from anxiety. We live in an anxious time, where it seems that despair is knocking at our door threatening to take over our lives and steal our peace.
We do not have to flood our thoughts and our hearts with that terrible anxiety. We must now, more than ever, place our trust in the ONE who makes it all possible and who is able to restore our peace in the midst of this storm that has come upon us.
Holy Week free of Anxiety.
We are in the Major Week, known as Holy Week. This is a time of reflection, of seeking changes in our lives that will lead us to a better encounter with God.
During this Holy Week all Catholics seek peace, seek to free themselves from anxiety and live Holy Week full of the trust that the Lord gives us. We celebrate the great mystery of all times, the most important thing that has happened in the history of this world: the redemption of humanity through a sacrifice of love.
Many times in our lives, we feel that Jesus is silent, our faith is overwhelmed by pain, anxiety, suffering and wounds caused by a life not very consistent with the Gospel.
But, Jesus is on the way, He waits for us to give us his strength, he does not get tired, he waits for our faith to overflow in confidence by abandoning us to his will... Then the miracle happens.
Prayer to live a Holy Week with confidence and free of anxiety.
Below I propose this simple prayer for you to reflect on during this Holy Week. A prayer to put our trust in God and to free us from anxiety, so that we may recover our peace.
Using as a basis the Gospel of Saint John 13,21-33. 36-38, we will put ourselves in the presence of the Lord and have a personal dialogue with Him.
1. Sign of the cross.
By the Sign of the Holy Cross, from our enemies, deliver us Lord our God. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
2. Pray an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be
Now, find a quiet place and begin this prayer, which is at the same time, a deep dialogue with the heart of God.
3. Prayer of trust for Holy Week.
Dear Lord, I wake up thanking you for the gift of life and love. I want to ask you to give me, during this Holy Week, the ability to know how to listen to you with a soul that is always ready and with a heart that is docile and open to your inspirations.
I do not want these moments that I am going through to rob me of my peace and fill my heart with anxiety. I need your strength and your power at all times to be able to feel with humility each of the manifestations of love with which you put in everything around me every day.
I want to be able to tell You with overflowing passion that, for You, I would give my life, but then I remember Peter, who then suffered from a terrible weakness that made him even deny knowing You.
I do not want to let myself be carried away, nor trust in the intentions of my heart, but that You are always my guide and my banner, lest I later see myself as Judas, who still, following your plan of salvation, and who also performed healings and expelled demons in your Name, let himself be carried away by his evil passions and ended up selling You for a few silver coins.
Lord, during this Holy Week I am enveloped in sadness and despair. Come into my life with your peace. I want to be filled with that true confidence which is capable of reaching your Sacred Heart in your presence as incense to your presence.
O my Jesus, many times I cry over my sins, my bad desires torment me and my soul is in anguish, I am weak, I admit it; but your Holy Spirit encourages me to get up and go on.
You are the friend who does not disappoint. I want to be faithful to your love, to your commands of love. I know that following You demands a total surrender and sacrifice of many things, but still I come close to You so that You may cleanse me of my selfishness, my pride and all that does not allow me to give myself completely.
I love You, my Lord, You are the master of my life, I trust that You will bless me at this moment and fill my life with joy and strength so that I may go through these dark hours that have overtaken me in order to disturb my heart and distance myself from You.
I abandon myself in your arms, Lord. I put everything in your hands and I let go of everything that keeps me tied to despair. I trust in You now, I trust in Your faithful company.
Amen.
