Daily Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In this daily prayer for June 18, we offer to God our little sufferings in life, all those wounds that led us down paths of pain and anguish and ended up suffocating our dignity as children of God. Let us ask this loving Heart for the restoration of our broken dignity.

Dear Father, I have felt the weight of a huge cross on my life, with which it has become quite difficult for me to take steps of faith or risk for the things I desire

There is something broken inside me, a dignity lost because of the damage of the many storms that have shaken my soul. You know what I feel, you know the destruction, the pain and the devastation inside me. To be honest, I see almost no way any good can come of this.

I know in my heart that this is not the end of my story, that you have something much bigger to come. I just find it hard to appreciate because of the discouragement and insecurity latent in me, caused by this broken dignity that I do not know how to recover.

Father, today I ask you from the depths of my heart to pass your healing hand over my life. I beg you to give me the restoration of dignity. Take me through the process I have to go through to make this happen.

Perhaps, the path of my restoration will be nothing like the process I have planned, but I trust that you see things from a higher angle, you see everything better than I do, and although it may be painful, I know that it will be for the good of my soul. Because when You offer restoration, compassion comes along with it. This is what you say in your word: "For I will give them back their fortune and have mercy on them. (Jeremiah 34:26)

Do what you have to do Father, restore my broken dignity, I no longer want to feel worthless, discouraged, insecure in the face of so many things. I submit to your ever-loving will and goodness at all times. I know that, with your love, those things I had trouble separating from will be removed or cut out of my life. So you can grow something even better instead.

I trust, Father, that you have come to restore my dignity in your time. You want to work wonders in my life with great love and compassion through your plans for healing and restoration. Glorify yourself in this that was lost and broken within me and in its place put something glorious and new with which to witness your power.

Come Father to rebuild, Come Father to liberate, to heal, to restore. It doesn´t matter if it´s not how I expect it to be. I know something better will come out. I know that, from this ruin that was meant to be dignified, you will build great walls and castles that will never again be torn down by the troubles of life.

I trust, beloved Father, that you will pour out protection, delight and establish a covenant of love between your Sacred Heart and my broken and wounded one. I believe you´ll keep your promises of restoration. In you I will have new life and abundance. Amen.

Biblical quote for June 18.

"The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He sent me to bring the good news to the poor, to bind up the wounded hearts, to proclaim release to the captives and freedom to the prisoners... to comfort all who mourn, to exchange their ashes for a crown, their mourning clothes for the oil of joy, and their dejection for a song of praise. They will be called "Oaks of Righteousness", "Plantation of the Lord, for His Glory". They will rebuild the ancient ruins, restore the rubble of the past, renew the ruined cities, the rubble of many generations. (Isaiah 61,1.2b-4)

Act of Consecration to the Heart of Jesus.

By St. John Paul II.

Lord Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the human race, we turn to your Most Sacred Heart with humility and trust, with reverence and hope, with a deep desire to give you glory, honor and praise. Lord Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, we thank you for all that you are and all that you do. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, we praise You for the love You have revealed through Your Sacred Heart, which was pierced for us and has become the source of our joy, the source of our eternal life. Gathered together in Your name, which is above every name, we consecrate ourselves to Your Most Sacred Heart, in which dwells the fullness of truth and charity. By consecrating ourselves to You, we the faithful (person or place) renew our desire to correspond with love to the rich outpouring of Your merciful and full love. Lord Jesus Christ, King of Love and Prince of Peace, reigns in our hearts and in our homes. Overcome all the powers of the evil one and lead us to participate in the victory of your Sacred Heart. May we all proclaim and give glory to You, the Father and the Holy Spirit, the only God who lives and reigns forever and ever! Amen.
