Prayer for the children to Mother of Perpetual Help

The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is one of the best known and most beloved images of the Virgin Mary. It is known for its incredible miracles throughout history. That is why, if you want to pray for your children, give them to our Mother, the Virgin of Perpetual Help, to extend her maternal care over them.

Today, novena devotions - in churches and chapels, in homes and hospitals, on television and radio, and on the Internet - nourish the faith and prayer of millions of the faithful around the world. St. Alphonsus Liguori, one of the great devotees of the Blessed Virgin, wrote in his famous book: The Glories of Mary, the following:

"Those who love Mary call her Mother. It could be said that there is no other name for her, since she brought us to life on Calvary, when she offered her Son for our redemption".

In Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis left us several beautiful quotes about Mary, one of which says

"On Calvary, when Jesus left us his Mother to be our Mother, he gave her a mission: to accompany us on our journey as a mother, to teach us and to bring us strength. "Do not let your hearts be troubled ... Am I not here, who is your Mother?" (EG 285, 286)

Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

In this icon, Mary not only cradles her Son and holds them in her hands, but also her right hand points to Him. Jesus is the Way! While Mary accompanies us, she constantly and gently leads us to Jesus. He is the living Gospel, the Word made flesh, our Redeemer and our brother.

It is this encounter with Jesus that fills our hearts and our lives with joy. Her message is Jesus, and her message is love, tender love. With infinite tenderness, his gesture tells us: "Do whatever he tells you" (John 2:5)

Mary invites you to open yourself to the mystery of God´s presence with you here and now. Those eyes know joy and suffering, peace and problems.

Mary´s eyes speak to our heart. They invite us to take her into our homes, just as the Beloved Disciple took her home from Calvary. She is and will always be our perpetual help on our journey of pilgrimage

The following prayer is a beautiful prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help that she may always help our children in all their needs.

Prayer for the children to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

My Mother, help my children! May this word be the cry of my heart from the dawn. O Mary, may your blessing accompany them, keep them, defend them, encourage them, sustain them everywhere and in all things.

When they prostrate themselves before the Lord´s presence and offer Him their tributes of praise and prayer, when they present their needs to Him or implore His Divine Mercy, My Mother, help my children!

When they go to work or study where duty calls them, when they move from one occupation to another, at every move they make, at every step they take and at every new action, Mother, help my children!

When the trial comes to exercise their very weak virtue and the cup of suffering is shown before their eyes; when the Divine Mercy and purify them through suffering, My Mother, help my children!

When hell is unleashed against them, when it strives to seduce them with the attractions of pleasure, the violence of temptation and bad examples, My Mother, help and preserve my children from all evil!

When they prepare to rest at night so that they can continue their journey to their eternal homeland with renewed fervor the next day, Mother, help my children! May your blessing, My Mother, descend upon them, in the day, in the night, in comfort, in sadness, in work, in rest, in health and in sickness, in life and in death. Amen
