Serenity prayer for September 22.

My Lord, I awaken my soul to your Presence so that from it, I may receive that inner strength not to be disturbed by anything. I can do everything with you by my side. You are my greatest inspiration. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to have Mary, our Queen of Heaven, as my Mother. Help me to discover her as the best model of disciple to follow. Like the Virgin Mary, I also say to you: May it be done according to your Word! Amen.

These are the daily readings for Tuesday of the 25th Week in Ordinary Time, celebrating to Saint Joseph of Cupertino.

Readings for Tuesday.

Daily readings for gospel

First Reading for daily Gospel: Reading from the book of Proverbs 21:1-6,10-13.

Like flowing water is the heart of the king in the hand of the Lord, who turns it where he pleases. A man´s conduct may strike him as upright, the Lord, however, weighs the heart. To act virtuously and with justice is more pleasing to the Lord than sacrifice. Haughty eye, proud heart, lamp of the wicked, nothing but sin. The hardworking man is thoughtful, and all is gain; too much haste, and all that comes of it is want. To make a fortune with the help of a lying tongue, such the idle fantasy of those who look for death. The wicked man´s soul is intent on evil, he looks on his neighbour with dislike. When a mocker is punished, the ignorant man grows wiser, when a wise man is instructed he acquires more knowledge. The Just One watches the house of the wicked: he hurls the wicked to destruction. He who shuts his ear to the poor man´s cry shall himself plead and not be heard.

Daily Psalm for Tuesday.

Psalm 118(119):1,27,30,34-35,44.

"I shall be filled, when I awake, with the sight of your glory, O Lord." (R).

Guide me, Lord, in the path of your commands. They are happy whose life is blameless, who follow God´s law! Make me grasp the way of your precepts and I will muse on your wonders. (R).

I have chosen the way of truth with your decrees before me. Train me to observe your law, to keep it with my heart. (R).

Guide me in the path of your commands; for there is my delight. I shall always keep your law for ever and ever. (R).

Daily Gospel Acclamation.

"Alleluia, alleluia! Happy are those who hear the word of God and keep it. Alleluia!" (Daily readings for today extracted of Luke 11:28)"

Daily Gospel for September 22. Luke 8:19-21.

Daily Gospel reading for Tuesday, September 22 (This is the great family of Jesus): "At that time, The mother and the brothers of Jesus came looking for him, but they could not get to him because of the crowd. He was told, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you." But he said in answer, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice." ".

Daily Gospel reflection by Pope Francis.

"Like Mary, open your heart to the Word of God and practice it."

In the daily Readings, through this passage from daily Gospel, we can appreciate that "these are the two conditions for following Jesus: hearing the Word of God and putting it into practice.

This is the Christian life, nothing more, eh. Simple, simple". Perhaps we have made it a little difficult, with so many explanations that no one understands, but the Christian life is like this: listening to the Word of God and putting it into practice. This is why, in the daily Gospel, Jesus replies to those who told him that his relatives were looking for him: "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice.

And to hear the word of God, the word of Jesus is enough to open the Bible, the Gospel. But these pages should not be read, but listened to. "To listen to the Word of God is to read that and say, "But what is this saying to me, to my heart?". What is God saying to me, with this word? And our life changes.

Every time we do this, we open the Gospel, read a passage, and ask ourselves, "With this God speaks to me, does he say something to me? And if he says something, what does he say to me?" This is listening to the Word of God, listening with the ears and listening with the heart. Opening the heart to the Word of God. Jesus´ enemies were listening to Jesus´ Word, but they were close to him to try to find a mistake, to make him slip up, and to make him lose his authority. But they never asked themselves, "What does God say to me in this Word?

And God doesn´t just speak to everyone; yes, he speaks to everyone, but he speaks to each one of us. The Gospel has been written for each one of us. Certainly, putting into practice what we have heard is not easy because it is easier to live quietly without worrying about the demands of the Word of God. Concrete ways to do this are the Commandments, the Beatitudes. Always counting on the help of Jesus, even when our heart listens and pretends not to understand. He is merciful and forgives everyone, he waits for everyone because he is patient. (Daily Gospel reflection, St. Martha, September 23, 2014)

Daily Prayer for Gospel.

Dear Father, I want to focus on everything that is agreeable to your eyes. I don´t want to waste time on vanities and worldly things that distract me from your love. To become a true member of your family I have to shelter under the shadow of your love, receive that love and give that love to others. Help me to feel your closeness in all that I do. May my heart merge with yours to always have the right direction of love. When I feel lonely or abandoned, help me remember that you are never far from me and that you are ready to offer me comfort and strength. May I learn to see your presence around me. Through your Truth, fill all my darkness-wrapped ways with light. I am your son Lord, I belong to your people. Give me the blessing of your forgiveness. Amen. (Healing with the serenity prayer for daily readings and Holy Gospel)

The Pope´s daily quotation.

"It is better for a Church that is wounded, but makes a journey, than a Church that is sick because it closes in on itself" Pope Francis.
