Serenity prayer for September 24.
My God, I place my trust in your love because all around me, problems have come to me like an unstoppable storm. I come to you to calm my heart. I feel agitated; but the peace that comes from your Sacred Heart can calm my whole inner self. I love you Lord, give me serenity, give me peace. May I find that emotional balance even in the midst of so many problems. I trust in you. Amen.
Readings for Friday.
Daily readings for gospel - First Reading for daily Gospel: Reading from the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-11: "One moment yet and I will fill this house with glory."
In the second year of King Darius, on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai: Tell this to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadak, and to the remnant of the people: Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem like nothing in your eyes? But now take courage, Zerubbabel, says the LORD, and take courage, Joshua, high priest, son of Jehozadak, And take courage, all you people of the land, says the LORD, and work! For I am with you, says the LORD of hosts. This is the pact that I made with you when you came out of Egypt, And my spirit continues in your midst; do not fear! For thus says the LORD of hosts: One moment yet, a little while, and I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will come in, And I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. Mine is the silver and mine the gold, says the LORD of hosts. Greater will be the future glory of this house than the former, says the LORD of hosts; And in this place I will give you peace, says the LORD of hosts!
Daily Psalm for Friday.
Responsorial Psalm is taken from the Book of Psalm 42(43),1, 2, 3, 4: "Hope in God; I will praise him, my savior and my God." (R).
- Do me justice, O God, and fight my fight against a faithless people; from the deceitful and impious man rescue me. (R).
- For you, O God, are my strength. Why do you keep me so far away? Why must I go about in mourning, with the enemy oppressing me? (R).
- Send forth your light and your fidelity; they shall lead me on And bring me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling-place. (R).
- Then will I go in to the altar of God, the God of my gladness and joy; Then will I give you thanks upon the harp, O God, my God! (R).

Daily Gospel - Luke 9:18-22.
Daily readings for Friday, Gospel for September 24 (You are the Christ of God. The Son of Man must suffer greatly.): "At that time, when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?" They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, "One of the ancient prophets has arisen." Then he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, "The Christ of God." He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone. He said, "The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised."
Daily Readings reflection, by Pope Francis.
"Knowing God from the heart," Pope Francis.
In the daily Readings, we observe that Peter, was certainly the bravest that day, when Jesus asked the disciples: And who do you say that I am? Peter answered firmly, "You are the Messiah." And after this confession he probably felt satisfied within himself: "I have answered rightly".
(...) Also today, we hear many times within us the same question addressed by Jesus to the apostles. Jesus turns to us and asks: "who am I for you? Who is Jesus Christ for each one of us, for me? Who is Jesus Christ? And we, too will surely give the same answer as Peter, the one we learned in the catechism: You are the Son of the living God, You are the Redeemer, You are the Lord!
(...) To answer that question that we all perceive in our hearts, who Jesus is for us, what we have learned, studied in the catechism, is not enough. It is certainly important to study and know him, but it is not enough. Because to know him truly, it is necessary to make the journey that Peter made.
Through daily Readings, we see that "Peter went on with Jesus, he saw the miracles that Jesus did, he saw his powers. Then he paid his taxes, as Jesus had told him, caught the fish and took the coin: he saw many such miracles".
However, at a certain point Peter denied Jesus, betrayed Jesus. Precisely at that moment he learned that difficult science, more than science, wisdom of tears, of crying. Peter asked the Lord for forgiveness.
(...) In the forty successive days, Peter heard many explanations from Jesus about the kingdom of God. And perhaps he was tempted to think: ah, now I know who Jesus Christ is! On the other hand, he still lacked many things to know who Jesus was. And so, that morning, on the beach at Tiberias, Peter was questioned again. Three times. And he felt ashamed, he remembered that afternoon of Good Friday: the three times he had denied Jesus. He remembered the crying.
On the Tiberias beach, Peter wept not bitterly as on Friday, but he cried. And about that phrase "Lord, you know everything, you know that I love you" I am sure he uttered it in tears.
(...) To know Jesus, it is not necessary a study of notions but a life of discipleship. In this way, walking with Jesus we learn who He is, we learn that science from Jesus. We know Jesus as disciples. We know him in the daily encounter with the Lord, every day. With our victories and our weaknesses. It is precisely through these encounters that we come closer to Him and know Him more deeply. (Daily Readings reflection, St. Martha, February 20, 2014).
Daily Prayer for the Gospel.
My Lord and my all, your great work of love has spread throughout the world to give us all the wonders of walking under your Shadow. You assured us that "He who believes in me will live and never die". Therefore, I believe, I hope, I adore you and I love you. You are my God, my Creator, my sweetest love. May my heart open in all its splendor to love you as it should. Help me not to fall into the traps of sin that separate me from living in the grace of that pure love. I want to be yours forever, I only ask that your Holy Face of compassion always enlighten me and make me fly through the abysses of your mercy. I trust in your love. Amen. (Healing with the serenity prayer for daily readings and Holy Gospel)
The Pope´s daily quotation.
"Jesus came down to earth to make us go up to heaven: this is the mystery of the Cross" Pope Francis.
In this world, there are different types of people´s attitudes. Today we are going to pray 3 Hail Mary for all those vain and arrogant people who look down on others. Those who insult and try to trample on others because they think they are superior. God save us from the trap of pride and help us to be humble.
