Serenity prayer for September 27.
My God, I confess to you that I live with my spirits often changing. I think that all this comes from not placing my entire trust in you. I feel a lot of noise around me. There is an emotional imbalance that invades my senses and I cannot be in your Presence. Come Lord, calm my soul. Calm these agitated emotions and make me see that my life can change radically if I surrender all my situations into your hands. Help me to trust you more. Amen.
Readings for Monday.
Daily readings for gospel - First Reading for daily Gospel: Reading from the book of Zechariah 8:1-8: "I will rescue my people from the land of the rising sun, and from the land of the setting sun."
This word of the LORD of hosts came: Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am intensely jealous for Zion, stirred to jealous wrath for her. Thus says the LORD: I will return to Zion, and I will dwell within Jerusalem; Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. Thus says the LORD of hosts: Old men and old women, each with staff in hand because of old age, shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem. The city shall be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets. Thus says the LORD of hosts: Even if this should seem impossible in the eyes of the remnant of this people, shall it in those days be impossible in my eyes also, says the LORD of hosts? Thus says the LORD of hosts: Lo, I will rescue my people from the land of the rising sun, and from the land of the setting sun. I will bring them back to dwell within Jerusalem. They shall be my people, and I will be their God, with faithfulness and justice
Daily Psalm for Monday.
Responsorial Psalm is taken from the Book of Psalm 101(102):16-18,19-21,29 and 22-23: "The Lord will build up Zion again, and appear in all his glory" (R).
- The nations shall revere your name, O LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory, When the LORD has rebuilt Zion and appeared in his glory; When he has regarded the prayer of the destitute, and not despised their prayer. (R).
- Let this be written for the generation to come, and let his future creatures praise the LORD: "The LORD looked down from his holy height, from heaven he beheld the earth, To hear the groaning of the prisoners, to release those doomed to die." (R).
- The children of your servants shall abide, and their posterity shall continue in your presence. That the name of the LORD may be declared in Zion; and his praise, in Jerusalem, When the peoples gather together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD. (R).
Daily Gospel Acclamation.
"Alleluia, alleluia. The Son of Man came to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. Alleluia, alleluia." (Daily readings for today extracted of Mark 10:45)
Daily Gospel - Luke 9:46-50.
Daily readings for Monday, Gospel for September 27 (The one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest): At that time, an argument arose among the disciples about which of them was the greatest. Jesus realized the intention of their hearts and took a child and placed it by his side and said to them, "Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest." Then John said in reply, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow in our company." Jesus said to him, "Do not prevent him, for whoever is not against you is for you.".
Daily Readings reflection, by Pope Francis.
"To have a child´s heart to go with God". Pope Francis.
In the daily Readings, we see that Jesus teaches the apostles to be like children. The disciples were arguing about who was the greatest among them: there was an internal dispute, the eagerness to make a career, hey! These who are the first bishops had this temptation to make a career. "Hey, I want to become greater than you..."
It is not a good example of what the first bishops did, but it is the reality. And, in the Daily Readings, Jesus teaches them the true attitude, that of children, docility, the need for advice, the need for help because the child is precisely the sign of the need for help, for docility to go forward. This is the way. Not who is bigger.
Those who approach the attitude of a child are closer to the contemplation of the Father because they listen with an open and docile heart to the guardian angel. (Daily Readings reflection, Saint Martha, 2014, October 2).
Daily Prayer for the Gospel.
My Lord, in your Word I always find great lessons of faith that leave me awed by your Greatness. You show your love for all, especially for the little ones, children because your Kingdom belongs to those who are like them. Help me to have a heart like that of a child who trusts himself in the arms of his Father. May I never lose the simplicity and tenderness that you gave me from the moment of my conception. I trust in You. Amen. (Healing with the serenity prayer for daily readings and Holy Gospel - Qriswell Quero @Copyright 2021)
The Pope´s daily quotation.
"In the difficult moments of life, the Christian finds shelter under the mantle of the Mother of God." Pope Francis.
