Daily Gospel for December 6. Mark 1:1-8.
Daily readings Sunday, Gospel for December 6 (We must prepare the way of the Lord): The beginning of the Good News about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is written in the book of the prophet Isaiah: Look, I am going to send my messenger before you; he will prepare your way. A voice cries in the wilderness: Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight. And so, it was that John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. All Judaea and all the people of Jerusalem made their way to him, and as they were baptised by him in the river Jordan they confessed their sins. John wore a garment of camel-skin, and he lived on locusts and wild honey. In the course of his preaching he said, ‘Someone is following me, someone who is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to kneel down and undo the strap of his sandals. I have baptised you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit.". (The catholic daily readings and the Holy Gospel, on this page, are from the Jerusalem Bible)
Daily Readings reflection, by Pope Francis.
"Pope Francis: Have a heart overflowing with love, peace, and joy as you wait for the Lord"
From daily Reading we can understand that the heart of man desires joy. We all desire joy, every family, every people aspire to happiness. But what is the joy that the Christian is called to live, is called to witness? It is that which comes from the nearness of God, from his presence in our lives.
From the moment Jesus entered history, with his birth in Bethlehem, humanity received the seed of the Kingdom of God, like the soil that receives the seed, the promise of the future harvest. It is no longer necessary to look elsewhere.
Jesus came to bring joy to all and forever. It is not a joy only expected or postponed to Paradise: here on earth we are sad, but in Paradise we will be happy. No, no. This is not it. It is a joy that is already real and can be experienced now because Jesus himself is our joy, and our home with Jesus is joyful, as that sign of yours said: "With Jesus, joy is at home.
And without Jesus, is there joy? No. Bravo. He is alive, and he is the Risen One, and he works in us and among us, especially with the Word and the Sacraments. All of us baptised, children of the Church, are called to always welcome God´s presence in our midst again and to help others discover it, or rediscover it if they have forgotten it.
This is a beautiful mission, similar to that of St. John the Baptist: to direct people to Christ, not to ourselves because He is the goal towards which the human heart tends when it seeks joy and happiness.
(...) We have never heard of a sad saint or a saint with a funeral face. It has never been heard of. It would be a contradiction in terms. The Christian is a person whose heart is overflowing with peace because he knows how to put his joy in the Lord even when he goes through the difficult moments of life.
Having faith does not mean "not having difficult moments", but having the strength to face them knowing that we are not alone. And this is the peace that God gives to his children.
With her gaze turned to the approaching Christmas, the Church invites us to bear witness that Jesus is not a character from the past; he is the Word of God who continues to illuminate man´s path today; his gestures, the Sacraments, are the manifestation of the Father´s tenderness, consolation, and love for every human being. (Daily Readings reflection, Angelus, December 16, 2014).

You are my shield and I am sure that your Love and your Grace will not depart from me. Amen. (Healing with the serenity prayer for daily readings and Holy Gospel)
The Pope´s daily quotation.
