In life, there are times when we must forgive and ask for forgiveness because we feel something in our heart that is not right. This "something" can fill us with resentment, pain, bitterness, and resentment. These are things that can make our life miserable if we can get those bad emotions out of our system and heal them. Through this prayer of forgiveness letting go of grudges, pains, bitterness and resentments, we can learn to let go of all that into God´s hands.
In these moments when we feel the heart closed, and we don´t find how to forgive and free ourselves from resentment, we need to go to the powerful presence of God, who heals everything. Thank you for giving me the gift of your Presence in my life because with it, I learn to be at peace with everything I do now. Thank you for providing me with so many things, for your loving action in my life and for giving me the wonderful gift of your forgiveness. In your great compassion, you welcome me even with my faults. You know I can do better and you give me new opportunities to improve.
I want you to help me to remove from my heart all desire for revenge, all spiteful and angry emotions that I have stored up due to the lack of forgiveness. Help me to correct the evil that dwells in me. The pain of the wounds I have caused lives in me and makes it difficult for me to heal them. Only with your love can I achieve this. You know, Lord, that I have tried hard to forgive; but without your grace, it is hard for me to do so.
O Lord, give me the ability to ask for forgiveness and to forgive. Among all my sorrows, my unhealed wounds. Only in You can I find freedom from bitterness. Through this prayer for forgiveness, may you teach me what it means to be filled with compassion.
O God of love and truth, Your teaching is profound and clear about the forgiveness. If I want to be forgiven and enjoy the wonders you have prepared for all who love you, I must follow your guidelines of love:
"And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, so your Father in heaven may forgive your failings too. (Mark 11,25 - Jerusalem Bible)

O my God, help me to free myself from resentments, so that I may live free from bitterness and from all that is not good for my soul and my body. Thank you for teaching me that forgiveness is how I love. I ask You, Jesus, through Your mercy in me, to give me the strength to offer forgiveness as You ask. Help me to love, for it is by loving that my heart can be healed. Amen.
Whenever time allows, pray the prayer for forgiveness, to let go of grudges, sorrows and bitterness. There is nothing more harmful to the heart than resentments. Please do yourself some good and leave the grudges behind. A prayer for forgiving others and forgiving oneself is useful and necessary when everything seems to fall from within.
