Prayer to Saint Raphael the Archangel for difficulties in marriage

Saint Raphael the Archangel is one of the seven archangels who stand before the Throne of God and who has permanent access to His Presence. He is a faithful advocate for the restoration of all marriages that find themselves in trouble or serious difficulties.

The Archangel St. Raphael played an essential role in the union of a Holy Marriage found in trouble in a story in the Holy Scriptures, specifically in the book of Tobias

Saint Raphael took human form to guide and protect Saint Tobias, son of Tobit, from the evils and sufferings that would come his way.

On the way, Saint Raphael the Archangel advises Tobias to take Sara, the daughter of Ragüel, who was a relative of his, as his wife. Tobias´ fiancée, Sara, had seven husbands and all of them were killed by the demon that stalked her, Asmodeus, a demon that specialized in attacking marriages and destroying them.

St. Raphael told Tobias not to worry about it, he gave him some protective advice to cast out the demon, so they could be joined in holy matrimony.

"Listen to me well, brother. Don´t worry about that demon and marry her. I´m sure you´ll be married to her tonight. But when you enter the room, take a part of the fish´s liver and heart, and place them on the perfume brazier. Then the smell will spread, and when the devil smells it, he will run away and never again appear beside it. (Tobias 6:16-17)

Prayer to Saint Raphael for problems in marriage.

O glorious St. Raphael the Archangel, God´s medicine, intercede for our marriage today. Come and bring to our marriage the same heavenly gifts you gave to Tobias and Sarah, the graces of healing, liberation and marital unity. Instill in our hearts the peace and assurance that nothing is impossible for God regarding the renewal of our marriage. Come, revive and give our marriage a new forgiveness, a new humility, a new grace, a new peace, a new purity, a new confidence and a new love.

I want you to be my guide and counselor in all the dangerous and difficult problems and decisions of my life. Remember, dear St. Raphael, that God´s grace preserved you with the good angels of heaven when the proud were cast into hell.
