Prayer to Saint George for the coronavirus pandemic

Saint George is well known for his intercessory power against plagues, pests, diseases or pandemics. He was a faithful servant of God and a martyr of Love and surely he can also help us against this pandemic of coronavirus that keeps us all in a state of unrest.

The popular tradition represents St. George as the knight who faces a dragon, symbol of unshakable faith that triumphs over the devil. His feast day is April 23rd.

Prayer to Saint George for the coronavirus pandemic

Saint George; you who were favored by God with the gift of faith and courage, with an ardent zeal for the love of Jesus Christ, give us the courage to endure illness and plague in the midst of this coronavirus crisis. You fought bravely against the demon of pride, falsehood, and deception. Neither pain, nor torture, nor the sword, nor death could separate you from the love of Christ.

I earnestly implore you by this love to help me, through your intercession, to overcome the temptations and illnesses around me, and to bravely endure the trials that oppress me in this tense time I am living.

Help me, O powerful Saint George, to patiently carry the cross that has been placed upon me; and may neither anxiety, nor anguish, nor difficulties separate me from the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the contrary, may my faith grow in the midst of this trial of pandemics.

Courageous champion of faith, help me to fight illness and evil, so that I may win the crown promised to those who persevere to the end. Amen. I count on your intercession before the Throne of God so that no evil shall befall me, that a powerful blessing shall be poured out upon my home, upon my family, upon all whom I love and protect me from this plague of coronavirus that threatens the life of all.

Jesus Christ, my Lord, through Saint George, may my prayer reach the foot of your cross so that you may protect and defend me in these dark hours. Cover me with the power of your holy and divine grace. Virgin Mary of Nazareth, cover me with your sacred and divine mantle of a tender Mother. Protect me from sickness and contagion.

God the Father, full of mercy and goodness, You are my defender, my king, my ally against the evils and illnesses of the world. Be my protection at this time.

Glorious Saint George, in the name of God, extend to me your shield and your powerful arms, defending me with your strength and your greatness; and may this pandemic of coronavirus be defeated under the precious Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

So be it beloved Father, with You and in the mighty Name that is above every name, the Name of Jesus Christ, together with the breath of life of the Divine Holy Spirit. Amen.

May the Most Holy, Sacred, Adorable, Impenetrable and Most Sweet Name of Jesus, be forever blessed, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth and under the earth, by all God´s creatures and by the Sacred Heart of God Himself, in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen
