Daily Gospel - Readings for september 9, 2020, Pope Reflection.

Readings for daily Gospel, September 9, 2020. Reflection on holy Gospel of Luke 6:20-26 - Daily Readings and the daily Prayer for your life on Wednesday of the 23rd Week in Ordinary Time.

Daily prayer for September 9.

My Lord and my God, you know that without You, I cannot be happy. It is hard for me to achieve my purposes. I want you to free me from any experience of sadness and fear that I myself have fallen into because of wrong choices. Help me to control my emotions, to choose paths wisely and not to let any negative circumstances make me lose control today. Amen.

Reading for Wednesday. Daily gospel

First Reading for daily Gospel: Reading from the book of 1 Corinthians 7:25-31.

About remaining celibate, I have no directions from the Lord but give my own opinion as one who, by the Lord´s mercy, has stayed faithful. Well then, I believe that in these present times of stress this is right: that it is good for a man to stay as he is. If you are tied to a wife, do not look for freedom; if you are free of a wife, then do not look for one. But if you marry, it is no sin, and it is not a sin for a young girl to get married. They will have their troubles, though, in their married life, and I should like to spare you that. Brothers, this is what I mean: our time is growing short. Those who have wives should live as though they had none, and those who mourn should live as though they had nothing to mourn for; those who are enjoying life should live as though there were nothing to laugh about; those whose life is buying things should live as though they had nothing of their own; and those who have to deal with the world should not become engrossed in it. I say this because the world as we know it is passing away.

Daily Psalm for Wednesday.

Psalm 44(45):11-12,14-17.

"Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words." (R).

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words: forget your own people and your father’s house. So will the king desire your beauty: He is your lord, pay homage to him. (R).

The daughter of the king is clothed with splendour, her robes embroidered with pearls set in gold. She is led to the king with her maiden companions. (R).

They are escorted amid gladness and joy; they pass within the palace of the king. Sons shall be yours in place of your fathers: you will make them princes over all the earth. (R).

Daily Gospel Acclamation.

"Alleluia, alleluia! Whenever anyone obeys what Christ has said, God’s love comes to perfection in him. Alleluia! " (Cfr. 1 Jn. 2:5)

Daily Gospel for September 9. Luke 6:20-26.

Daily Gospel reading for Wednesday, September 9 (The Beatitudes and the Lamentations): "At that time, fixing his eyes on his disciples Jesus said: "How happy are you who are poor: yours is the kingdom of God. Happy you who are hungry now: you shall be satisfied. Happy you who weep now: you shall laugh. Happy are you when people hate you, drive you out, abuse you, denounce your name as criminal, on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice when that day comes and dance for joy, for then your reward will be great in heaven. This was the way their ancestors treated the prophets. "But alas for you who are rich: you are having your consolation now. Alas, for you who have your fill now: you shall go hungry. Alas, for you who laugh now: you shall mourn and weep. "Alas for you when the world speaks well of you! This was the way their ancestors treated the false prophets." ".

Daily Gospel reflection by Pope Francis.

"Blessed is everyone who walks that path of forgiveness".

In the reading of the daily Gospel, Jesus tells us to be "blessed are the meek" in this world that from the beginning is a world of wars, a world where people fight everywhere, where everywhere there is hatred. And Jesus says: no wars, no hatred, peace, meekness.

If I am meek in life, they will think I am a fool, let them think what they want, the meek will inherit the Earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. So many injustices, which are the product of corruption, of the cronies of corruption, of the politics of business above all. And Jesus reminds us that those who fight against these injustices are blessed.

Blessed are the merciful, those who understand the errors of others. Jesus does not say blessed are those who take revenge.

The daily Gospel also tells us that those who forgive, the merciful, are blessed. For we are all an army of the forgiven. And therefore, blessed is he who walks that path of forgiveness.

Blessed are those whose heart is pure, simple, pure without weeds, a heart that knows how to love with such beautiful purity.

Blessed are those who work for peace. But it is so common among us to be workers for war or at least workers for misunderstanding.

When I hear something of this and I go and tell you, with an enlarged version The world of gossip. These people who gossip don´t work for peace, they are enemies of peace. They are not blessed.

In the daily Gospel, Jesus presents us with the Beatitudes and also gives us other indications, which we find in chapter 25 of the Gospel: "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was passing through and you gave me shelter, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me".

Few words, simple but practical words for all, because Christianity is a practical religion: not to think it but to practice it (Daily Gospel reflection. Saint Martha, June 9th, 2014.)

Daily Prayer for Gospel.

Lord, I recognize myself as a sinner before You, who failed, but through Your compassion, You forgive me, console me and give me the strength not to fall into evil deeds anymore. You want me to be happy, to walk in confidence and to maintain hope. You have left me a program of life to achieve this: The Beatitudes. You who, being Almighty, became small to give comfort to the afflicted, help to the weak and give strength to the helpless. I open my heart to you, dwell in it, guide me and make me understand that I must live a spirit of charity and assimilate your words to put them into practice. Help me to go against a society that defines happiness as having many achievements, money or being successful, without thinking that this can take me away from your love. God of my life, help me to experience the path you have taught me, to feel your hand that accompanies me, your love that unites, transforms and consoles me. Give me the joy of having a compass in my heart that always points to the happiness that comes from that program of life that is the Beatitudes. Come and guard my soul from the evil enemy. Give direction and light to my life and fill me with all the love and courage I need to get ahead. Amen. (Healing with prayer daily gospel)

The Pope´s daily quotation.

"Who can boast of not being a sinner? No one can. Let us ask the Lord´s forgiveness for our sins." Pope Francis.

Purpose for daily Gospel.

I´ll make a call to that family member with whom I´m having such a hard time staying calm and I´ll listen carefully to what he has to say. Have patience as Jesus has infinite patience for us.
