Blessed are you God of love and abundance. What a joy to be able to have this encounter of love with you in prayer and to be able to feel you by my side giving me strength in this time of difficulty. Reading for Tuesday. Daily gospel
First Reading for daily Gospel: Reading from the book 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 (The Spirit reaches even the depths of God)
The Spirit reaches the depths of everything, even the depths of God. After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man, and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God. Now instead of the spirit of the world, we have received the Spirit that comes from God, to teach us to understand the gifts that he has given us. Therefore, we teach, not in the way in which philosophy is taught, but in the way that the Spirit teaches us: we teach spiritual things spiritually. A nonspiritual person is one who does not accept anything of the Spirit of God: he sees it all as nonsense; it is beyond his understanding because it can only be understood by means of the Spirit. A spiritual man, on the other hand, is able to judge the value of everything, and his own value is not to be judged by other men. As scripture says: Who can know the mind of the Lord, so who can teach him? But we are those who have the mind of Christ
Daily Psalm for Tuesday.
Psalm 144(145):8-14.
"The Lord is just in all his ways." (R).
The Lord is kind and full of compassion, slow to anger, abounding in love. How good is the Lord to all, compassionate to all his creatures. (R).
All your creatures shall thank you, O Lord, and your friends shall repeat their blessing. They shall speak of the glory of your reign and declare your might, O God, to make known to men your mighty deeds and the glorious splendor of your reign. (R).
Yours is an everlasting kingdom; your rule lasts from age to age. The Lord is faithful in all his words and loving in all his deeds. The Lord supports all who fall and raises all who are bowed down. (R).
Daily Gospel Acclamation.
"Alleluia, alleluia! A great prophet has appeared among us; God has visited his people. Alleluia!" (Cfr. Luke 7:16)
Daily Gospel for September 1. Luke 4:31-37.
Daily Gospel reading for Tuesday, September 1 (The healing of a possessed person): "At that time, Jesus went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because he spoke with authority. In the synagogue there was a man who was possessed by the spirit of an unclean devil, and it shouted at the top of its voice, "Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God." But Jesus said sharply, "Be quiet! Come out of him!" And the devil, throwing the man down in front of everyone, went out of him without hurting him at all. Astonishment seized them, and they were all saying to one another, "What teaching! He gives orders to unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out." And reports of him went all through the surrounding countryside.".
Daily Gospel reflection by Pope Francis.
"The Word of God transforms, heals and liberates from the devil.".
In the reading of the daily Gospel, we see that Christ´s divine authority had aroused the reaction of Satan, hidden in that man; Jesus, in turn, immediately recognized the voice of the evil one and "sternly commanded: Shut up and come out of this man!
Only with the strength of his word does Jesus free the person from the evil one. And once again those present remain astonished: "But this man, where does he come from? He gives orders to the unclean spirits, and they obey him! The Word of God provokes astonishment in us. It has that power: it amazes us, good.
The Gospel is a word of life: it does not oppress people, on the contrary, it liberates those who are slaves of so many evil spirits of this world: both the spirit of vanity, attachment to money, pride, sensuality
The Gospel changes the heart, The Gospel, the heart, changes the life, transforms the inclinations to evil into purposes of good. The Gospel is capable of changing people. Therefore, it is the duty of Christians to spread everywhere their redemptive power, becoming missionaries and heralds of the Word of God.
(...) Always remember that the Gospel has the power to change life. Do not forget this. It is the Good News, which transforms us only when we allow ourselves to be transformed by it.
That is why I always ask you to have a daily contact with the daily Gospel, to read a passage every day, a passage, to meditate on it and also to carry it with you everywhere: in your pocket, in your wallet. In other words, that you nourish yourselves every day from this inexhaustible source of salvation.
Do not forget. Read a passage from the Gospel every day. It is the force that changes us, that transforms us: it changes life, it changes the heart.
Let us invoke the motherly intercession of the Virgin Mary, the one who has welcomed the Word and generated it for the world, for all people. May she teach us to be assiduous listeners and accredited announcers of the Gospel of Jesus. (Daily Gospel reflection, Angelus, February 3, 2015)
Daily Gospel Prayer for September 1.
O Lord, I want to love as You love and forgive as much as You do. I want You to help me with the light of the Holy Spirit so that I can achieve this. Give me the ability to forgive people who hurt me. Touch my heart so that I am always ready to love freely, without prejudice, to be a happy, joyful person, who is building a better future according to your laws of life. I trust in your blessing and love that you pour on me at this moment and help me to change those bad attitudes to face the challenges of every day. Thank you for your love and your company that make me experience your powerful Truth that is filling my life and my heart with love and mercy. (Healing with prayer daily gospel)
